“DJ JoSH celebrating 20 years DJing in 2004”

DJ Josh has become an institution and a major part of History for the South Australian dance music scene. Her humble beginnings started at the Mars Bar back in 1984 where she scored her first resident gig by bluffing her way into the DJ box. Since then she has clocked up 1000’s of hours DJ’ing in clubs spanning not only in SA but nationally in Melbourne, Sydney, Townsville, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin and New Zealand gig’s too numerous to mention!

Josh is celebrating her 20th Anniversary of DJ’ing in 2004 looking back at
Some of her most memorable gigs to date which have been:

- Kylie Minogue’s (Private) “Meet and greet party”
- Appearance and interview on ABC TV’s RECOVERY
- her first CD compilation “Sessions 002”,
- headlining the RHI pavilion at the 2003 SYDNEY GAY LESBIAN MARDI GRAS,
- Appearance on channel V’s ROOM 208,
- Appearance on PEAK HOUR channel V (1 hour special celebrating 20 years “Future Vision”,
- VITALSTATISIX play “SPRUNG” @ the SPACE THEATRE
- Headlining 2003 SYDNEY SLEAZE in the Horden @ FOX studio’s.

DJ JoSH is still at the forefront of the SA music/club industry as:
- Radio presenter.
- Program producer.
- Radio personality on FRESH FM.
- Position on the Fresh FM committee of management.
- Committee member of the RAP committee her knowledge and skills play a major part of the Selection committee for ARTS SA’s Peer assessment panel for artists seeking Govt. funding.
- Music Business Adelaide 2003 Steering committee alongside some of Adelaide’s leading music specialists.
- Event co ordinator.
- Music producer.
- Club DJ.
- Event hosting/MC and public + motivational speaking
The workload doesn’t stop there!
Her public speaking engagements have increased with bookings such as:
- Host for the SA Annual Dance Music Awards
- Club launches
- Movie previews and Launches
- Fund raisers for Government funded launches/projects, The Aids Council of S.A., Dales Street Womens centre, Hep C council, Gay men’s health, Red Ribbon day, Bobby Goldsmith Foundation and FEAST exhibitions.
Josh continues to pull together resources and talent from all musical backgrounds and brings them together on projects as well as networking them to each other. Her producing career has emerged from her experience over the past 2 decades with her project engagements including:

DJ Josh currently resides at 7 resident gigs including Chemistry @ heaven, Cumberland hotel, Karma, Soda Room, Rise recovery, Sugar bar and is resident interstate guest at ARQ Sydney, Sounds on Sunday Sydney, Magnitude Melbourne and The Vines Berri country SA.
